Happy Father’s Day Dad July 18, 2008

Yesterday my Dad and I celebrated Father’s Day. (He was out of town on Father’s Day) We got in 9 holes of golf, ate lunch at Thai House, and cruised the isles of Freight Harbor and Walmart’s clearance isle.  It is funny how much we are alike.  I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful Father. It was so nice to sit and talk.  I felt like I was maybe talking too much,  but it is very rare that we have any one on one time.  I had so much to say.  Note to self: Have Father’s Day every month!

I met up with my husband and we transferred the girls to my car and we went to DQ for ice cream.  Then we were off to Dad’s to go swimming.  My two year old decided to go down the slide – eek Mom was so nervous.  She loved it, and then she got gutsy and went down backwards- Thats my baby?

Yeah, its finally Friday.  The day I look forward to every Sunday.  It is so hard to concentrate on my job tasks because I have my weekend task already jumping through my thoughts.  We will head for the Lake of the Ozarks this evening.  My daughter (14) will be bringing a friend to help entertain her.  We don’t have my step-daughter so it will be our 2 year old and us.  We purchase another SeaDoo, 3-seater.  So Im looking forward to teaching my daughter (14 yr old) to water ski.  Note:  My parents taught me so many different varieties of sporting activities.   I really found it to be very beneficial growing up.   I’m really slacking in that area.  I better get to work!!  Thanks Mom & Dad for teaching me so many things!!

I’m off to do the ritual “packing of the car” for the lake.  I’m really looking forward to this weekend!  Ta Ta for now!

Thank you God for this day! July 16, 2008

As I look out the door of my bedroom, I am once again astounded by Gods work.  So insteaded of writing I’m going to put on my running shoes and enjoy his gift.

Well, as usual things didn’t go the way I thought they would.  Instead of putting on my running shoes I accidently made the mistake of walking into the kitchen.  I saw that the flowers needed to be watered, my step daughters lunch needed to made, towels needed to go into the dryer (I put them in the washer at 4 a.m.), I wanted to put some tea out to brew in the sun, I had picked up a new mint plant at the farmers market that needed to be planted.  By the time all this was done it was time for me to start our family morning routine:  Try to arouse our 2 youngest 2 & 6, feed them cloth them and prepare them for their day.  Oh, and our cleaning fairy – Carol is coming to clean today.  You know what that means, time to clean before she cleans.  What a great feeling it is to walk into a clean home once every two weeks-Bless you Carol!  Well, I’m off to start the day!  (I work 9-4:30 at my husband’s Chiropractic office)  Time to put on a different pair of shoes- sandals

Work is a little uneasy today, we have to let the new girl go.  She just didn’t fit the mold.  It has been very uncomfortable because I know my husband is letting her go tonight.  So, as usual, I’m search for the employee that fits the mold-Again!   It is so hard to find anyone that has any enthusasim about working.

I went to my personal trainer today.  Running shoes!   Boy, does he make me run among other fun activities:  100 Lunges, 100 Push-ups, 50 Pull-ups, ETC…  I wish I had more time to get in better shape.  It is so hard on me when I only work out once a week.  I made a pack to run/walk 10 miles a week.  I’ve only done 2.5 so far.  Maybe I can get a run in tonight.

I got to talk to my son today.  Background:  He has been living outside our home for 7 months.  Blended our two families have been really tough.  His Father has petitioned the courts for full custody.  What a strain this is on my marriage & my relationship with my son.
